Peter Capell was born on March 18, 1966 in New Zealand. From age 19, he served first with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and later with the Operation Mobilisation ships, travelling to many countries to bring the Gospel, help and relief where needed. He was a carpenter by trade and got his degree in Development Studies in order to help the underprivileged and poor.

In November 2003, a month before his wedding, he was diagnosed with cancer. Less than a year later on November 8, 2004, and 5 days after his daughter's birth, his journey on earth ended. Peter was only 38 years old but he left behind diaries spanning 20 years of his life, with a full page entry for every single day!

This book is a collection of excerpts from those diaries, compiled by his wife and put into different topic sections. Though his diary entries are personal, he would have wanted to share it with you. His heart is reflected in this quote from his diary: “To live this life solely for my own benefit is simply not worth it.” August 7, 1994
